The 2nd of three bottles purchased in Denmark 8 years ago.
Bottled 2010. Decanted 2 hrs. Medium dark brown colour. Tiny bit oxidized. Powerful aroma of especially citrus and almonds with a hint of alcohol. Full body. The taste is powerful, elegant, quite a mouthful, citrus, oak, spices in full measure and nice polished tannins. Complex and quite tough colheita. Well-structured colheita with acidity slightly on the high side, but OK. Long aftertaste with a touch of bitterness. 94 pts.

Re: 1937 Burmester Colheita port
Do you think that a longer decant would help it to open up?
Re: 1937 Burmester Colheita port
I am a bit sceptical to have too long decanting times for the old Burmester colheitas, as they tend to "grow" on the acidity.
We had last weekend a 1963 (which is a top year for Burmester colheitas) and we ended opp concluding that 1.5 hrs was optimal for that particular. I will shortly post a tasting note for the 1963.
