"Crafty" is one of those wonderful British euphemisms that few on this side of the pond truly comprehend. Of course, I'll choose the easy path and thank you for the compliment Alan.

Roy,
I double checked the meaning of Crafty in my dictionary, and found it to mean what I thought. But then I decided to check in an American Dictionary on the Net and was surprised. It said it had two general meanings,
1. Skilled in, or marked by, underhandedness, deviousness, or deception.
2. (Chiefly British) Skillful; dexterous.
So if you thought I meant the 1st meaning, apologies. But I'll tell you this, if you lot keep changing 'our' language to cause confusion....We're taking it back!!!!
Alan :)

Roy,
Was there a typo in your posting? You said
Also, I have heard recent rumours of a new "garagiste" producer of Garrafeira's coming to market in a few years time. I believe that the producer is still negotiating with the appropriate authorities for permission to do so but I would expect in 10 months or so an announcement of the first production from the new shipper Botbol of Boston.

Alex,
No, I did mean 1890 and was referencing the YOUNGEST Garrafeira (not including the Niepoorts) that I can prove exists. I am open to other possibilities, so bring 'em on, and will verify the ones which folks bring to the fore.
