1994 Warre's vintage port -- WOW!!
Decanted 6 hrs (will try 6.5 hrs next bottle). Dark purple colour with a tiny touch of brown when pouring. Deep complex aroma of berries and herbs. Full body. Powerful and elegant in such greatness that is seldom to experience. This vintage port is so well structured and the balance acidity/sweetness is perfect. Fruit (sweet style berries) is intact, fantastic “polished” tannins, oak and minerals in the background giving an impressive frame of this port. Anis and mint can be noticed at the end. It is not too sweet and there is a tiny touch of dryness at the end. Very long aftertaste. The best vintage port tasted from Warre’s ever. The other 1994-bottles consumed have been at 95 pts-level. This bottle was 97 pts.

I look forward to trying one of those soon. Excellent note Rune, and I know what it takes to get you to the 97 point threshold. So, I'll say, "double WOW!"

Been waiting to open the case of mine. Over the last decade, I had it a few time from another case I got a friend. It seemed so young just 5-6 years ago. Great to read it is as good as I thought it was going to be! ![Toast [cheers.gif]](./images/smilies/cheers.gif)
