2011 Ferreira Porto Late Bottled Vintage

Post by Claus P »

  • 2011 Ferreira Porto Late Bottled Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto (10-06-2019)
Note written after the bottle has been open for 72 hours, having tasted it over all four days.
This is an absolute monster with impressive amounts of fruit, tannins and acidity.
The fruit is mainly grapes with a bit of dark fruits like plums and blackberry.

It is honestly not a good idea to open this bottle now as the tannins and acidity makes it very hard to appreciate the quality of the fruit, and I will personally not open any more for another 6-8 years. (92 pts.)

I had a '99 Ferreira LBV recently and it's has a long life ahead of it too.

yes, I saw your note on it.
I guess I'll just have to put a very long drinking window on this one
