Pretty far up river for those that want to concentrate their visits between Regua and the Pinhao train stops. But otherwise, this looks like a nice option for couples or a few friends with a car:

It's actually not too far up river. It's located near Quinta Vale D. Maria and directly across the river from Quinta d. Roeda. The only downside is what's probably a 20 min drive to Pinhao down the N222 to the N323. Just over 9km to Pinhao. But 20 min isn't that long of a drive in the Douro. Heck the drive from Pinhao to Quinta Nova or Crasto is 40 minutes.
You would want your own car if staying here. And the property looks really nice from the pictures.

All they have to do is have a boat take you across the river to Croft's Quinta da Roeda.

I’m sure that could be arraigned without much difficulty nowadays.David Spriggs wrote:All they have to do is have a boat take you across the river to Croft's Quinta da Roeda.

I looked at the 3D satellite view in Google maps, and there doesn't appear to be a good place to dock on the Ventozelo side. There is a band of rough scrub between the vineyards and the river.David Spriggs wrote:All they have to do is have a boat take you across the river to Croft's Quinta da Roeda.

That road looks like it connects to that small cleared out area where it looks like boats come ashore at.

I'm not sure what quinta that belongs to. I thought it was Quinta do Pessegueiro, but that is the next one upriver. But there appears to be a winery there between Ventozelo and Pessegueiro.Andy Velebil wrote:That road looks like it connects to that small cleared out area where it looks like boats come ashore at.
