Ridiculously priced 20 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by Roy Hersh »

So, this morning I've been updating my spreadsheet on pricing my wines with current realities and I got to the place where it lists 20 Year Old Tawny Ports by Kopke.

Good old recently renewed "winesearcher Pro" shows three stores, 2 in CO and 1 in NYC with pricing below $18 and as low as $15 for 750 ml bottles folks. Er, is that possible? Really 750 ml bottles at that price ... not for a 10 year old, but a 20? Really?

Run. If you smoke cigars, want to cook with a wonderful 20 year old, pour some on your favorite pecan pie or ice cream ... whatever.

RUN!!

Well, I put in an order for three. We'll see what happens when I try to pick them up. If all goes well I might just get a few more.

The Total Beverage listing in Colorado is a pricing/SKU mistake. The slight good news is that they called me before I drove there.
