1985 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Monique Heinemans. »

As I'm not drinking much port anymore I was pleasantly surprised by this bottle. Bought it some years ago for about 60 Euro's.
This is a very lovely VP with a lot of (dried) fruit, it is mouthfilling, a bit sticky (thick tears drowning down the glass) and a has a very very long aftertaste. Maybe just al little bit sweet to my taste, but only a little bit ;-)
Had the last glass just now (after 3 days) and it's still going strong. One of my best bottles ever and a very fine port to share with friends!

Agreed. Few of us on this Forum will outlive the potential of the 1985 Fonseca. Glad you had the opportunity my dear. Great to see you posting a tasting note. You are missed, Monique! :scholar:
