Port in Philly

Post by Guest »

I'm heading to Philly this weekend for a wedding and will have an evening to kill on Saturday night - any notable places to enjoy a good glass of Port or Maderia?

Stewart,

May I suggest your hotel room. Just throw a bottle or two in your suitcase and your set. In a pinch, those tumbler type glasses in the bathroom work just as well for Port as for water...so long as they are not plastic

Checked Baggage

I was hoping to not have to check bags (which is the only way I could bring a bottle with me), but the thought of drinking a '94 Vesuvio from plastic hotel room cups is mighty appealing... ;)

In that case, I would suggest just putting a brown bag over that '94 and drinking it straight

Stewart,

If you are checking in your bottles don't mark them as FRAGILE - it's way too tempting for the ground crew who like to kick fragile packages across the tarmac :x
