2003 Vintage Ports arrived
I have been told by importers that many of the 2003 VPs have arrived. I think that Dow and Niepoort have not come in yet, but many of the others have. This is very early and bodes well for popping some early examples during the holiday season!

I just picked up my 03's today..the only ones not in yet were the Dow's...(I didn't order any Neiport, so i cant say on theirs). I must say, the Quinta do Vesuvio came in a wonderful wood box with a hard cover 35 page book, with pictures, that described the history of the Quinta and vines. A wonderful addition to the wines, I wish all did this from time to time.
I also picked up 4 375's to try by years end, just to prevent the temtation of opening a full bottle before it's time.
When I get around to trying them, I'll post my notes.
Happy drinking

Did the Vesuvio was bought by a case of 6 or 12? I hope that the one I ordered will come with the same book, I was only able to get 2 bottles. It was a limitation set by the LCBO since the demand for the wine was so high.
I remember having seen nice wooden box of Vesusio in Portugal but they where only having a picture inside the cover.

Fred,
I bought 6 bottles and they come 6 to a decorative wood box (including the hard cover book that is mounted inside, on the top lid, by two straps.) I am sending you a PM.

Andy,
I've also got some of the 2003 Vesuvio, but mine are going into bonded storage in the UK (so I can delay paying the tax until I am ready to drink the wines).
If you have the opportunity and the time, could you post some pictures of the base and the book. I'd love to know what I have bought even if it is 10-20 years before I get them in my hands.
Thanks,
Alex

I will try, I'm not that computer literate so I hope I can figure it out...It won't be for a few days, at the earliest, as I am working Graveyard this weekend.

The book is pretty cool as a freebie. I think the Vesuvio pricing is very fair in 2003. The Port itself is pretty spectacular.
As for 2003s, I am going to a dinner on Thursday where a friend from Taylor (Robert Bower) will be pouring the Fonseca, Taylor, Croft and Delaforce 2003s. In addition, there will be a Fonseca '85, Croft 1970 and 1963 and I am going to bring a '77 Taylor to add to the fun.
