1994 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port

Post by David Spriggs »

Very dark color. Almost opaque. Nose is beautiful, classic Vintage Port. Wood, earth, plum and sour cherry. HUGE entry! A big palate presence! The palate is all black fruits. Covers the entire palate. Quite powerful, yet so suave. Very long finish. A great showing of this wine! Many of my recent bottles have been closed on opening, but this one hearkens back to the days when you can pop and pour without regret. A stunning Port! 96 points.

Good to hear. The 94’s seem to be slowly coming out of their phase over the past few years and emerging as beautiful Ports again.

I tasted one of my bottles a few months ago, but for me it was too strong on the first day.
On my opinion is had the best taste on the third or maybe fourth it was open.
