1963 Grahams VP

Post by Eric Menchen »

(Bottled by Tanners of Shrewsbury.) Strong garnet color. Sweet and powerful aroma compared to the above three wines (1963 Noval, 1955 Royal Oporto, 1933 Van Zeller), along with menthol and eucalyptus. There are some herbs in the aroma as well. The flavor is really juicy and tangy, with warmth in the finish. That warmth is almost too much, but not quite. There are also flavors of cherry, lemon, and a little wood. There is also some dry leather dustiness. There is just enough roughness to be fun. 94 points
