I found and purchased 2 more bottles of RWC's Porto Moniz Malvasia Special Reserve. I still have a little bit left from the original bottle that I purchased several years ago, and while the Porto Moniz is somewhat drier than I usually enjoy for sipping, it's in the perfect range for me for drinking with fatty foods.

Had their been much of a price increase from the last time you bought it?

wrong price. Note high alcoholic taxes in this country and 25 % VAT.... Other comparable madeiras cost double of this Justinos Malvazia here.
I drink a lot of Justino’s Colheita’s 1995/1997/1998. Solid wine and a great value. They run about $40USD near me.

Not much of one, no. If I remember correctly it was $145 last time, and was $160 this time. It might have been $125 last time. But in either case nothing like the increase that RWC's Imperial Malmsey has gone through in the same time span. (Formerly $175 now $280, assuming you can even find it now.)

Wow! I bought that Imperial Malmsey at the Spanish Table in Seattle for $160 during an FTLOP Anniversary tasting weekend and at the time it was said that I overpaid.

NV Barbeito 30 Year Old Malvasia Lote Especial
NV RWC Historic Series Library Company Madeira

These were my favorites from the dinner in San Francisco celebrating 25 years of cooperation between Barbeito and the Rare Wine Company.

Catching up on a couple of purchases:

The big score,

and then later,

I'm not allowed to tell. Let's just say it was a private transaction and leave it at that.

1853 Lomelino Malmsey Solera Madeira

Top shoulder fill, so not great, but it was a good price and it's Madeira so I figure it's probably fine.

Saveiro "Tinto do Oeste" Tinta Negra

Has to be the best deal in every day Madeira on the market. Very pure tasting and leagues ahead in quality of anything at $20.99 I paid. The acidity isn't as piercing of many Madeira's, but the purity and balance are just wow at price. Curious to try their other ones. :D

A couple of repeats:

H.M. Borges 20 Year Old Malvasia
H.M. Borges 30 Year Old Malvasia

This time the friend wanted one of each 10, 15, 20, 30. I think he may be hooked. :-)

These and the 1853 Lomelino Malmsey Solera Madeira previously ordered are supposed to ship next week.
