Your favorite 20 year-old Tawny?
I've been enjoying a Ramos Pinto Quinta do Bom Retiro 20 year-old Tawny the past few days. It's a tie between this and the Quinta da Pacheca as my favorite 20 year-old Tawny with the Pacheca getting a slight nod. It got me to wondering, what's everyone's favorite 20 year-old Tawny? Second favorite?

In quebec , Ramos Pinto is in a league of its own
But at 95.00$
In 2nd place is Sandeman (more acidity)
Cabral 20 yr old tawny has the best quality/ price ratio at 53.00$

Really love the Ferreira and Niepoort (a tie). Second would probably be Ramos Pinto

I've never really tried to pick a favorite, but this query led me to review all my tasting notes, and the winner is:
Burmester (with Noval coming in second).

I have many ranked similarly but if I had to choose Ramos Pinto Bom Retiro
Any Port in a storm!

Ramos Pinto was my favorite for many years until the changed the label. I was pretty sure the changed the blend at that time also, but Jorge Rosas swore up and down that they hadn't. It sure tasted different to me.
After that I briefly had a preference for Ferreira's Duque de Braganca, but that only lasted until I tried S. Leonardo. That and DR are now my favorites, though I do also have a fond spot for Noval.
In Jorge's defense, I've had RP20 again lately and it seems to have drifted back toward the old blend. Not enough to regain its crown for me, but much closer to the old blend than those first few bottles I tried right after the label changed.

In 30’s, it’s Burmester, but for a twenty it’s a tie between Pacheca and Feuerheerd’s.
Cheers, and stay safe!

I am in line with Andy and Glenn's picks. I like Maynard's & Noval.
Maynard's, Noval, and Ferreira would be my three that most can find at retail.

I tend to keep a few of same to hand, thinking that it was a bit of a dirty secret, which is to note I am delighted to learn that I am in good company. Otherwise, I am quite fond of the Levandeira/DR.Tom Archer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 1:32 pm Ferreira with 40 years of bottle age added - bullet proof and glorious..
