1992 Smith Woodhouse VP

Purchased 3 of these recently in an auction. Bottle condition was good and the fill was mid-neck. I opened and decanted for 8 hours. It was a dark, rich looking purple. Completely opaque. Black fruit and alcohol on the nose. It was acidic with slightly too much alcohol on the palate from first sip through the finish. I could taste some slight sweetness on the finish, but again the alcohol was the most prominent player in this bottle. I can't tell if this is just too young still or if that's all there is in this vintage. I drank this over a week and there really wasn't much of a change between the first day and the last.

I'm going to leave my other 2 bottles alone for another 5 years or so and revisit it. For now, I'd give this an 88, maybe an 87.
