Cork Branding does not Match the Label??

Post by John M. »

Yesterday we enjoyed a 1985 Offley Boa Vista VP. Upon extraction the cork clearly stated "Forrester", not Offley. Does anyone know why this would be?

The wine showed well, about as good as the best TNs here and I'll get to posting it later.

Thank you.

Offley and Forrester names are same company. Either they used generic corks to save money, a random cork got mixed in on accident, or it actually says Offley but after drinking the bottle you “saw” Forrester.

Joking on the last one, maybe... lol

I thought some older vintages have both names on the label?

Late reply but I thought the Colheitas were always having the Baron Forester on the label but not the Vintage.
