1982 Smith Woodhouse Madalena VP. Cork broke free a tad loose as I inserted the Durand. Fill level is mid neck. An seductive nose of dried flowers and anise. Soft mature fruit that is starting to dry out with fully resolved tannins. Still has a lovely acidic backbone keeping it fresh. Lightly complexed and easy drinking. This bottle shows fully mature. While not the most complex, it’s hard to stop enjoying it. I’ve never had this Port before so no idea if this bottle is representative or not. 85/100
I’ve never had this Uber rare VP before so was a real treat regardless.

That is a rare bottle indeed. I think I saw one recently at auction. Did you just win that at auction in the last month or so?
