This port was rated by Roy Hersh as no. 7 (giving 94-96 pts) when he tasted all 2007-vintage ports. I purchased a case of 6 btls back in December 2014, so now it was time to test a bottle (being 13 years).
Decanted 4 hrs, which worked well. A lot of small sediments at decanting. Cork in excellent condition. Deep purple colour. Powerful aroma of fruit, still a bit “raw”/young. Hints of something pepperish in the aroma, but not disturbing. Full body. Taste was powerful (actually intense), plenty fruit, nice tannins, hints of oak. Nice acidity/sweetness-balance. Good structure. Dry towards the end. Long aftertaste. Looking forward to having more of this vintage port. 93 pts.
