NV S. Leonardo 40 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by P Kaye »

My first posted tasting note on FTLOP! I opened this from the cellar at just under 60 degrees and poured it right away. Beautiful golden color, nose of honey and a hint of nutmeg, maybe pineapple. Beautifully balanced sweetness and acidity that coats the whole mouth, with a wonderfully long finish. It's a dessert all by itself.Looking forward to a few weeks of this treat. Thanks, Roy and Glenn for the introduction!. 96 pts.

That's a great first tasting note!

If anything can be called my "house Port" it's this one (plus the 30 as well). I've probably been through 5-6 cases of it in the last 10 years... possibly more. And 2-3 cases of the 30. Superb stuff!
