Wedding in Philly

Post by Guest »

I had the wonderful opportunity this weekend to attend the wedding of a young woman that I anonymously donated bone marrow to almost 15 years ago. She was a 12-year-old with leukemia, and the marrow donation was successful in putting her into permanent remission.

I was able to meet her and her father once before, in 1996, but it was an absolute pleasure to meet her mother, her brand new husband, her three month old son, and her extended family for the very first time this weekend in Philadelphia.

Tonight, I think I'm going to open one of my 1994 Vesuvio's to privately celebrate this wonderful event.

If you are interested, you can learn more about the National Marrow Donor Program at: http://www.marrow.org/

Stewart,

Very cool, and hopefully your generosity will encourage more to do the same.

Stewart,

Donating bone marrow is a selfless act and I am really pleased that you have been able to meet the person who benefitted from your generosity.

Enjoy that Vesuvio '94. You deserve it.

Good job your bone-marrow didn't affect her looks.

Donations like this anonymously improve people's lives dramatically. It's a great thing to do for a stranger, I'm glad she's no longer a stranger to you. Enjoy the port.
I'm telling you - Port is from Portugal.
