This has an odd aroma of vegetable and tobacco, along with tar and licorice, lightly oxidized Amaro, and prune. The color is very dark magenta, with just a possible change of hue at the rim. It has big, juicy flavor, with dark fruit, blackberry, dried fig, prune, and stewed cherries. It is very enjoyable to drink, but those cooked flavors are very concerning at this young age. The tannins are nice and approachable. Medium bodied. Fruit fruit shows up in the flavor with time, including a Fig Newton character. Medium finish. 89 points.
