We opened this bottle I got at auction 5 years ago for a Valentines Day dinner. Decanted 3.5 hours. It was a beautiful light ruby color with a fade to light pink at the edges. One of our party said it smelled like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. It had an extremely smooth entry with a lovely full taste with hints of strawberry and blueberry jam, but the sweetness was perfectly balanced with firmness and a little bit of dark chocolate. But the killer was the long, graceful, and delicious finish that seemed to last forever. I'd love to tell you what it tasted like on Day 2 but it didn't make it through the evening.
One of the outstanding old ports we've been privileged to taste.
