Classic haul. Really nice ports. Had them all multiple times over the last 5 years. The Niepoort should be drunk the fastest. The G83 really nice at the moment too.Mike J. W. wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 9:16 am 1 x 1983 Graham's VP

I am a big fan of their tawny port. Older than 10 year tasting and on the drier side. Best deal going.Andy Velebil wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 6:24 pmHow is it?Moses Botbol wrote:6 bottles of Maynard's 10 year tawny for $17 each

Thanks Thomas. I really like the Graham's '83. In my opinion, I think it's better than the '85. Others will certainly disagree. The Fonseca '85 is very, very good and I have plenty of bottles of that, but if I can get them at a good price at auction (got this one at $62) then I grab them.Thomas V wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 7:55 amClassic haul. I've only had a few VP Niepoort's and a few Colheitas. The '17 VP is excellent, but too young, Then there was the '97 (slightly corked, no surprise) and a 1990 Niepoort Petre which was tasty. I have other Niepoort's in the cellar, but I'll take your advice and try the '87 sometime this year.

I also really like the 1983, and while I'm not sure I'd say it is better I'd be happy to say they're very similar in quality. The last time I had it I didn't think the '83 was done improving, and felt that the '85 was well within range of where I felt the '83 might end up.Mike J. W. wrote:Thanks Thomas. I think the '85 may be done improving (score-wise) but that it has a very long plateau at its current level.

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
Never tried yet. Price seemed fair at $115 after buyers premium.
Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
That sounds like a very happy man.
It says something about a Port drinker when his cellar defender is a 2008 White Colheita!
Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
Not a purchase exactly....I won some Port at Auction and was arranging for shipment when they said "We can send along your magnum of 1994 Warres." I keep notes on my purchases and it was not there so I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. Sure enough, I won it last year but did not log it in....think this is a sign I am either (1) losing it or (2) I am buying too much! or (3) All of the above ![DuckNcover [foilhat.gif]](./images/smilies/foilhat.gif)
