2020 Vintage Port Declaration

Post by Paul C. Metman »

Interesting news:

https://grandesescolhas.com/e-da-sogevi ... o-vintage/

The article is in Portuguese, but I think the content is clear enough:
For Sogevinus Fine Wines , 2020 is the Classic Vintage year for its four brands: Kopke, Burmester, Cálem and Barros.

Interesting... I had heard any real build up for the 2020s so wasn't expecting anyone to declare.

I have not tried the Quevedo 2020 yet. But Quevedo like Noval, Vesuvio will always declare in small quantities something great each year. But for larger groups or houses that want to respect the tradition to declare only when stars align, 2020 does not seem to be the obvious candidate.

TFP announced 2020 Quinta de Vargellas, but it won't be released until some unknown year down the road.
