Do you still like the 1971 better, or is the 1977 getting closer?

1989 D'Oliveiras Malvazia. I've had it open since Monday for a tasting tomorrow with a bunch of college buddies. I did take a small taste and OMG is it good. The aromas are ridiculous as well. By tomorrow night it's going to be really singing.

I haven't had them side by side, but I think the 71 a hair better. The 77 is no slouch though. I think it's getting better.

D'Oliveiras 1929 Tinta Negra (Doce)
Rich body and sweetness, backed by powerful acidity. Magnificent.

A simple Cossart & Gordon Bual 10 years that was very satisfying.

Rare Wine Co. Historic Series New York Malmsey
H.M. Borges 20 Year Malmsey- this is the oldest Madeira I've had and it's much more tart than I expected. Smells overwhelmingly of candied pecan and toffee. None of that is in the flavor, surprisingly. Instead there's a lot of malic acid mellowed by vanilla.

Barbeito Malvasia Candida Faja dos Padres Reserva Especial. The one with the label that looks like Kenny from "South Park."

Finally getting a chance to dig into the fabulous Buying Op that Roy put together. I’m a total Madeira novice and I love both of these. Madeira reminds me a lot of sherry, which I also love.

The 10 yr olds are nice but the Single Vintage ones really shine. They just need to sell mags of them lol.
