Wow these are lovely and great QPR for $14. The aroma and flavor is Riojaesque and sweet, the finish is not the longest, but it's very easy to drink. With an actual driven cork and plenty of tannins, there is enough here for some aging as well.

Seabra Liquors had cases of them stacked up, I might go back for a 6-pk of these.
Next time you're at a Seabra's (there are several around the Newark area), see if they have any Barao de Villar 10 year-old white Port for sale.
I bought them there a few years back and they're excellent. About $17 for a 500 ml bottle.

Having a little 1983 tasting with a couple 375ml bottles. Can’t wait to taste them! They’ve been decanting about 2.5 hours as of right now.

'85 Taylor VP and a Dow 10 year tawny over the last couple of days. The Dow is a nice change from the Maynards we usually buy.

Which one was better? Was there a clear winner or was it close?

I definitely preferred the Grahams - but both were quite nice and I lucked out with two well-kept bottles.

Could you tell me more about it?

The 94 Dow’s is great. It’s been decanting for 5 hours now and really smoothing out. Am wondering if it’ll be even better tomorrow, which leads me to believe you could cellar this for a long time still. I wouldn’t call it the most complex port I’ve ever had, but it’s medium sweet with a nice dry finish. I think you’ll enjoy it whenever you open one up.

Fonseca Bin 27 which was quite poor, overly strong and acidic, meh flavor.

My reserve ruby rankings for the moment are:
QVDM Lote18 > Sandeman FR > Graham's SG > Croft > Cockburn SR >> Bin 27

Still have the Noval Black and Fonseca Terra Bella in the cellar up next.

Interesting. Thanks for the ranking. We don't discuss ruby reserve rankings much.

I've been leaning towards ruby reserve over LBV's recently. Noval Black and Six Grapes are our my go to's. Had 25+ year old Six Grapes that showed terrific. Plenty of bottle aging potential.

2002 Beringer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Port
Not bad, prominent Cab Sauv fruit profile as you might expect.
