1980 Dow VP

Post by Eric Menchen »

Deep and powerful aroma with grape stem, dark fruit, and a little bit each of leather and wood. There are also grape skin and black current aromas as well, with a hint of dried rose petal in the background. Tastes like it smells, very strong and powerful, with currant, plum, and some fruity tang. There are fleeting tannins, medium acid, and medium body. The body is sufficient for a 1980, and the flavor is wonderful. It was a little cooked later, but still very nice. 93-94 points. The last sip was better, leaving me to settle at 94 points.
