Bottle no.1154. Alcohol 20.5 % which is quite high. Decanted 6 hrs which worked well.
The first vintage port I have seen from Cristiano van Zellers new set up. As I was not at all impressed by his new LBV 2017, I was sceptical.
However, the vintage port 2017 was a different story (positive!). The colour was deep burgundy. Aroma was overall quite intense.
Rich fruity aroma of dark red fruit. Full body. Influenced by ripe dark fruit. Smooth. Massive with dark fruit (such as cherries). Minerals in the background. Slightly dry towards the end. Can be consumed now, but I think it will also work well in the long run. 93 pts.
