Cask sample. This is a 100 Year Old Tawny Port blend that is a combination of Tawny Ports from 1895 and 1927. It is dark mahogany-brown in color with yellow and green on the edges. There are lime and citrus on the nose, along with mocha powder and light herbal notes. The palate is rich, unctuous, and has layers upon layers of complexity. The entry shows deep, rich chocolate and molasses, and is joined by a mélange of marzipan, maple syrup, soy sauce, and lime. There is a wonderful richness, with incredible balance, acidity, and sweetness. It has an extremely long finish. I am running out of superlatives. (98 pts.)
