(Bottled 2024.) Sweet aroma with some fruit. Spirited as well, along with some pleasant wood cellar character. There is lots of warmth, but it integrates well make for a wonderful drink. There are flavors of sugar, brown sugar, and butter. The core escapes further characterization, but I really like the sugar-acid balance here. 95-96 points. (18 May 24)
This was just about my favorite wine tasted on this day. It beat out a 50 year old blend and a 1957 colheita. It didn't beat out the 1937, but it came pretty close. And considering the price of 1967 vs. 1937, I went home with a bottle of 1967.
