Won an interesting lot.

1952 Bual Royal Silver Jubilee bottled 1977, Cossart Gordon Bottle (1)
1957 Boal, Barbeito Bottle (1)
1957 Reserva, d'Oliveiras Bottle (1)
1968 Boal Reserva, d'Oliveiras (1)
1969(bottled) Rare Old Verdelho, Christopher's (1)

Any info on the Chrisopher's? One writeup indicated a blend of 3 late 19th century vintages but had no references.

2 bottle of Justino's 50 year old Terrantez. One can never have enough of these. Also the price keeps going up, so dollar cost averaging helps.

Hello everyone. I'm new here. I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum, but here it goes.

I recently acquired a bottle of 1880 Miles Verdelho Solera. I can't find any information about it. Can anyone help me out? I've tried contacting Miles, but I haven't received a response

From the Madeira Wine Company, probably then known as the Madeira Wine Association. Most likely the same wine as the Blandy's 1880 Solera Solera. Both labels were members and they consolidated wine stocks. If so, this is an excellent wine. Perhaps a tad deficient in acidity for my tastes (I'm a huge acidity freak) but rich and satisfying.

I made the mistake of spending 10 days on the island about a month ago and am dangerously close to sliding down the slippery slopes of Madeira.

I bought 3 x 50cl bottles of Blandy’s 1996 Malvasia, bottled in 2011. I picked the bottles up on 24th May and two of them have already gone! Oh dear…

Sorry, I didn't respond because I didn't get an email from Mannie. I just knew that it was coming soon-ish because I follow Ricardo on Facebook, so I (like you) just reached out to Mannie directly.

I recently purchased a 6-pack of 1954 H&H Boal and a 6-pack of 1957 H&H Boal from two different sources. The 1957's have a bottling year of 1992, but the 1954's have no indication of when they were bottled. Any ideas?

My educated guess is that they were bottled sometime between January 1980 and December 1991. I’m confident it won’t be earlier than January 1980, but less certain about the cut-off date.

1929 D'Oliveiras Tinta Negra

1968 D'Oliveiras Boal
Barbeito 30 Anos o Engenheiro Tinta Negra
1996 Justino's Boal
2005 Faja dos Padres Malvasia Cândida
These were hand carried back from the island. I have two more to add that are being shipped.
