I already own 1 bottle and wanted to open & taste it so that I could determine how much I wanted to bid on the other but when I put my bottle up against a bright light it looked cloudy.
I was waffling on whether to open, or let it stand for a long while and bid 'blind', it when I decided to go ahead - I figured that I would get at least a decent 1oz taste, decant and then filter if needed.
So, I cut the foil and ewww...nasty...ran upstairs, grabbed the Durand, cleaned up the mouth/cork as much as I could and was more nervous as the spiral went into the cork with zero resistance. Uh Oh.

The Durand saved me a nasty cork mess.

The wine wasn't so cloudy - it was sediment inside the bottle which was now basically solidified.
The wine is fine but it has so much bottle stink and VA I won't know if it's GOOD for a few days.
