1970 Dow VP

Post by Eric Menchen »

Smelling this shows there is pleasant alcohol warmth in the aroma, with light fruit; faint tree bark, of a more subtle species; dried strawberry; and some suggestion of darker fruit like a dried fig. Juicy flavor with typical Dow dryness. But it is still sweet enough to call it a Port, and to enjoy. Wonderful wine, and my favorite in a lineup of five different 1970 VPs. 94 points.
