Re: Visiting Quinta do Vesuvio - Now open to the public
It’s been open for these visits for 2-3 years now. Not cheap but worth every penny I’ve been told by someone who’s done it a couple times.

I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of one of these visits, which are usually delivered by one of the more experienced members of the team of guides from Bomfim.
The visits are very well curated and are a great experience.

You are right smack in the middle of the Port Harvest tour 1 right now. Say hello to Mario for me. Are you planning on visiting Vesuvio on this or the next tour? I just want to fan boy a bit here because, if you haven't been, you need to go. Roy and Mario provide a 5 star experience beyond what I thought possible for the price. The access to the winemakers and private dining is something that is just not going to happen on this scale. You could tell when we rolled up for our visits the respect that Roy commanded was impressive. Even when he had to tell one that the wine was corked, while surprising, another bottle was produced almost instantly.
OK enough platitudes (even if well deserved) the real question I have is are we going to get another DR offering? I failed to understand how fast they would leave my cellar, only a scarce few remain. I will say they made for wonderful presents for some very appreciative recipients. We also tasted and heard rumors of the 70 or 90? year old white port to be released? I have yet to see any more information on this. Enjoy the rest of your tours!
