Been enjoying the long week end .
The difference being , a majority of us quebecers refer to the holiday as Patriots Day and not Victoria Day . . .

But of course the Quebecois wouldn't want to have anything to do with a holiday steeped in "English" tradition!!!tanker wrote:Been enjoying the long week end .

Actually, I'm not even sure WHY it is a holiday - how pathetic is that? At least "Patriots Day" has an inferred meaning - a person could make a guess. What is Victoria Day? Her birthday? Aniversary of her death? Anniversary of her coronation?
(I looked it up - it is to mark the birthday - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Day)
