That is exactly my point - John Doe or Joe Bloggs wouldn't have a clue and would go for what appeared to be a very cheap Vintage Port (but actually a just under priced SQVP). You, Alan, I and all the other nutters here would instantly see the 63 as an absolute bargain. We know from many of the threads here that not al of us are sufficiently hooked (yet) to buy a Taylor 63 at retail price, but I bet everyone here and many others like us would buy one at 100 Euro from the Taylor cellar.

There is no way that at 100 Euros, I'd buy one bottle of 1963 Taylor ex-cellars.

A case or two for sure, but no way, just one bottle.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Or afford them where they come from... Taylor 1963 VP $870 Cdn/~€630/$810USD/£410.

As a line in a song from a movie goes (which I am POSITIVE that very few people, if any, on this forum may have seen... South Park (far too juvenile and immature))"Blame Canada... Blame Canada"

Roy is right:

Low wine-searcher price for Taylor 63 in the UK today is $322 CDN/£125 - this eqautes to 182 Euro so my 100 Euro suggested discount price is less than the 50% reduction I was thinking off. But I would still say that 99% of the people who buy bottles of port in VNG would not pay 100 Euro for a bottle. So, even if you guys are greedy, the overall impact on stocks would be minimal and people like Todd could enjoy something he othewise couldn't buy. He would then blab on about how great a wine it is here thereby persuading other people around the globe to buy it wherever they happen to be at retail price.

I agree Derek, even if the price ISN'T 100 Euro... it shoudl be, so I can spread the good word around.

I wonder if I can get a grant as a religious preacher here in Canada... preaching the good word of the lord, our Port.:? The subsidies might actually cover the 'wine for the sacrament' :D
