Decanting time for Warre's 1985?

Post by Todd Pettinger »

Has anyone tried the Warre's 85 VP lately? If so, what sort of decanting time is recommended?

I have seen a few threads and TNs on this port, but I haven't run across one in my searches that have been recent within the last 3-4 months.

Thanks!

I would start with six hours of decanting, try it then. If it is still showing some heat, let it go for another two hours before you start to drink it in earnest. Just my :twocents:

Todd,

I would give it around 4 hours decanting, then start to drink it. However, Roy's advice is usually spot on!

Thanks guys!

Roy, Nicos, I plan to taste along the way and then go for it when it is to that point where I like it. I'll let you know how close to that 4 or 6 hour mark it will be! :)

I think there are a couple bottles of this left at deVines near my work, so if I can pick them up, this bottle will be a good test for when I should decant them! ;)
