Madeira Festival

Post by Marco D. »

For those of you who live in the Northeastern part of the US, you may be interested in going to one of the biggest Madeira festivals outside the island itself. It takes place in New Bedford, Mass... Aug 2-5th. I went last year, and although the wine was not great, the folk dancing and food was wonderful. Can't beat the Carne de Espeto... I can still smell it cooking over the coals.

Worthwhile for a total immersion into the culture.

I am going for sure... I just adore portuguese food... Favish, bring it on! The madeira barrel looks incredible.

I wanted to bring this back to the top of the page. As much as I'd love to be there ... it is just not in the budget this year. I'd love to have someone do an article on this event with some TNs and photos for the Sept. or October newsletter.

Any volunteers?

Marco or Moses?
