1907 Madeiras

Thought I'd make the heading somewhat generic to encourage notes etc.
However, in digging out my 1907's for a tasting later this month (in Toronto - probably will be populated by regular members of my group, but if anyone's near here on Nov 24, send me a message and I'll let you know if there's a cancellation to be filled), I discovered one that I'm short of notes on.

The stencil says " MALVAZIA 1907 JB MADEIRA" - and that's all the useful info.
My guess is that it's probably the Barros (Roy you featured this at one of your events - but didn't include a picture! - but you wrote of it as "MALVASIA" - the English, rather than Portuguese spelling).
There's no IVM slip, but it's a relatively recent bottling - my guess around 25 years old based on the stain in the neck.
Probably a US import as it has the standard 'Government Warning' and was imported by 'Vieux Vins, Inc'.

Anybody know for sure?
Incidentally we'll also be having the 1907 Blandy Bual, the 1907 d'Oliveiras Malmsey and the 1852 Verdelho from MWC.
Shared between 16 people to keep the cost reasonable.

Yes the 1907 J. Barros Malvasia used the Portuguese spelling and not the "incorrect" English spelling which is Malvazia. Then again, that is what was on the bottle.

1907 Blandy's Malvasia was also tasted during the road show as was the Blandy's Boal (Bual again, is the English form of spelling) also from 1907.

My bottle certainly has the 'z' spelling i.e malvazia.
Does this mean it is different from yours (assuming they are both Barros)?

Nope, it could mean that I just went towards my tendency in writing the wine down during a long tasting of Madeira. If you are looking at your bottle, I am sure you must be right.

I would be yours is J. Barros too.
