I'm looking for a good article which introduces Madeira and the types of wine which are made. I've tried searching the forum, but haven't been able to find a general introduction. Can somebody help me?

You have two good options. One is to search the article archive section on the website (not Forum) to view the many article on Madeira that I have written. The one re: our trip to Madeira in 2005, is very basic and explains everything from the production and the island itself to the wines.
The other best option is to go to our friends at http://www.madeirawineguide.com and you will find the most comprehensive Madeira website in the world.
