2003 Quinta da Gricha

Post by Dyrek L »

Good day one and all! :)

Up here in the frozen north (with wind chill factored in, about -45 to -50 for about 3 days earlier this week, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) I managed to find a new (to me, at least) port offering at my favorite store.

I've searched throughout here to find SOMEthing mentioned about this Quinta, but have not found ANYthing. :? Now, my searches may not have been structured well enough or I may have been searching in the wrong areas, (I'll blame that on a lack of Port at work), but I feel someone here must have tried this VP (maybe not this particular vintage) and has some thoughts on it.

I'd welcome any response. :) I have purchased 2. One for...the near future....one for much later in life. I guess I'm really looking for some vindication that my purchase was at least a good one. Cuz if not, they may both disappear soon.

Thank you one and all!

Hello Dyrek!

I never had this Port, though a few of us wrote the dry wine from this Quinta. I can tell you that the Churchill house is recent for Port history, founded in the early 80's. I'll let you read more at their web site : http://www.churchills-port.com/history.html

They are making huge leap from year to year with their products, I have not taste anything more recent than 2000 though. Their website is lacking update on recent Vintages.
