Saturday Night Bottle Picture

Post by Moses Botbol »

We need more pictures on this forum, and here's what we drank on Saturday. All three were winners, but there were some unexpected suprises in our TN's. Stayed tuned for details... I think this was a first for each bottle for me, and I think Sean as well. Not much '80 Graham coming around are parts, and we hardly ever see any Gould Campbell, never mind 77's. Fonseca '83 is a new case buy for me and we started off the worst looking bottle in the lot...

Edited by Roy Hersh. This has been moved to our Port Forum where it is more appropriate. You may reinsert your photo at a reasonable size, (about 1/3 of what it was) as it is only a pic of easily seen bottles.

Moses,
As Roy has mentioned, just a little longer and there will be a very cool picture section to post all you want.

BTW, Roy and I also had the '77 GC, as well as many other VPs' at the L.A. Offline last friday. Look for the upcoming article for full details and TN's. I dare say a couple of bottles really gave some people a shock, both ways

No picture, but I had another bottle of the 1983 Warre's on Saturday night.

Same problem with the cork as the last bottle, so I think I'm going to pass on the remaining bottles of 1980 and 1985 at the store. (The cork was soaked through and disintegrated as I tried to extract it. Luckily, the Port was fine.)

Moses, when we get together at the end of the month, we will HAVE to use tongs on at least ONE bottle as I have never seen them used before! :)

BTW, I have a bottle of '77 Smith Woodhouse ready for extradition and execution if the State of Massachusetts has a Death Penalty. And if it does not, then we'll slay it anyways, just gang style.

Very cool picture 8--)

Nice, we could do a '77 Horizontal. I have a Croft, and we could round up some Noval, Dow, Fonseca, etc...

I would certainly not complain about that. Let me know if this is the plan and I will see what I can do towards tracking down a 2nd bottle of something '77... I will bring the SW with me, but will likely need some help finding a dealer in your area that may have another bottle or two. Around here, there are rarely '77s found, and when they are, they are pricey! ;)
