I have the opportunity to buy a bottle of Colheita 1900. Before i do that i would like to know what you guys think is a fair price. The price they are asking is € 300. I attached a pic of the bottle which has a remarkable story if true.
I remember tags on Niepoort 1900 about 1,000 EURO or more,
a few years ago in Portugal wineshop. It's regarded as a very fine vintage.
For that price, I'd take a bet on the Borges.
Pity, the guy got a tip that the bottle is worth much more. He removed it from the site and will put it up again with a new price attached. I will wait and see how much it will be.
Ok, the guy is offering it now for € 750,--
Way too much for me since i dont know its history. If anyone is interested, PM me and i tell you where to find it.

Honestly, I thought the price was too HIGH at 300 GBP. No way I'd pay that much for it. You will have the new newsletter within the next 72 hours and a major Colheita tasting with 29 bottles ranging from 1815-1957 were included. The average age of the 29 bottles was 88.8 years each, so you can imagine with over 2500 years total bottle age, we drank some crazy stuff. There was one very old Borges and Irmao in that lineup and in fact it was teh 1900 and I believe it was also bottled in 1947 and recorked in 1982. So you'll have a solid TN to go from in the next couple of days and you'll know more about this particular bottling along with photos. Timing is everything!
