Largest Port Tank

Post by Roy Hersh »

The largest wooden Port cask is the massive one at Warre's which is enormous.

But (besides 2007 Harvest Tour participants ... that means YOU Andy  ) ... what is the largest Stainless Steel Port holding tank? Is it in Gaia or the Douro? Last but not least, how much does it hold?

I think it is at Real Companhia Velha in Gaia. Regarding the capacity, no idea.. but it's a lot :D

Mr. Aho must have read his FTLOP newsletter today. :D

Hopefully, he'll come back to share his Port wisdom with us in other threads too. Thanks for contributing and yes, you are correct. It is enormous but the wooden one at Warre is even more impressive to look at.

Thanks you Mr. Hersh!!! You don't find all the answers in the books, so you have to read the FTLOP...
To be hinest I haven't read the FTLOP... I visited Real Companhia Velha in March and that why I know. May I ask you what is the capacity?
Continue the good work.

Hi David,

Nice to know your name. If you get back to Porto you really need to check out VinoLogia. Lots of fun there!

Good to see you are going to be able to read the newsletter. Let me know what you think and if you see anything to improve it.

Roy
