Shipping Port Around the World

Post by Al B. »

Does anyone have any experience in shipping single bottles of port or madeira from one country to another? Specifically, any experience in sending bottles between the US and the UK or between the UK and Portugal?

Roy, when you sent a bottle from the US to the UK in October, how did you do it? Who did you use and what was the rough cost?

Thanks,

Alex

Alex,

I have purchased a number of bottles from around Europe and they usually come to me via the countries local postal service. When they enter the UK they are then delivered by Royal Mail or Parcelforce depending on the method chosen by the sender.

Costs for a single bottle tend to be between 20-30 Euros for 1 to 3 bottles.

Happy to say I have not experienced any loss or damage to date (touch wood!) :)
