There was huge flake like sediment in the funnel after decanting the 1983 Hooper's vintage Port. The only other time I have seen this type of sediment was from a 1985 Croft which was not exactly the greatest Port I have ever imbibed. In the glass it had a medium ruby and rust color with a light edge. The nose had a dusty Elmer's Glue-like scent. It was very acidic tasting and unbalanced with minimal strawberry undertones. The finish was vegetal and sour with notes of tart lime. Not enjoyable.

Re: 1983 HOOPER'S VINTAGE PORT
I thought it fared a little better than Sean, but it's certainly not the best port. I did not think the Elmer's taste was as pronounced.
