Picked up a 1977 Blandy's Bual at a Portugal/Spain wine sale. Has anyone tried it before?

Moses,

Who is having the sale?

I have had the D'Oliveira's 1977 bual. It's nice drinking, a little sweet.

Marty's in Boston/Newton was having a sale; 20% 6+ Spanish/Portuguese. The bottle came out to around $100 after the discount. Not bad. Picked up the Broadbent 10 year Malmsey that I adore. The Broadbent has more guava and plum flavors than I usually associate with Madeira.

Marty's has a nice selection of Madeira.

Yes I did have it. Finally something that is cheaper in Quebec selling 99$ a piece. For my Madeira experience, it is a very fine bottle! Worthy buy.

I had it too. For once, we get something cheaper than you Yanks  Paid 90$ for it because there was a 10% sale when I bought

I found it quite enjoyable, but did not provide 90$ of pleasure, I would rather have 2 bottles of New Hampshire Ramos Pinto 20 tawny for this price. That being said, I'm not a big Madeira drinker.

I think the Sandeman 20 is NH's best buy. Do they still have the '85 Warre for $70?

Try the Broadbent 10 year Malmsey. I know a few that have tried it that love port, but don't like madeira so much, but find the Broadbent to be quite enjoyable.

Remind me before the next time I come up to Montreal and I will bring one if it's too expensive up there. It sells for $50 or under around here.

Moses , the SAQ has Blandy's 10 yr old Malmsey for $ 49.00 . . .
On the way back from the Ferreira vertical , stopped off in NH and picked up a couple 20 yr old Sandeman tawny's ( $33.00 a piece ) don't have any in Montreal .
Vintage avant jeunesse/or the other way around . . .
