OK, I've raised a hornets nest, but I don't feel stung!

Rovani may be a nice guy, but his comments on the '03's were loaded with meaningless rubbish (remember "ceiling wax" ??)

Pardon me for being blunt, but it's hard to take a guy seriously when he comes out with that sort of crap.

I can transcribe the passages in RP 6th if people need convincing, - but not tonight!

Suckling and Mayson produce reviews that I respect and can relate to. Broadbent is fascinating for the historical perspective, and an invaluable reference for older wines.

Parker was a great crusader when he first appeared, publicly denouncing those commentators who were corrupted by the producers.

In most respects his influence has been beneficial, and I certainly wouldn't describe him as the Mugabe of the wine trade - the good apple gone bad.

But he does have some very strong opinions that I do not believe are conducive to the best interests of the VP trade.

Your thread is a good one and got people to think, and respond. I too love the great discussions that have arisen here, especially those that make me sit back and really think about things.
