I opened up a bottle of H & H 15-year Verdelho this evening to have with some leftovers while watching TV. Part of the leftovers was some plain boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce (left from last night's shrimp cocktail). To my surprise, the wine went extremely well with it. The shrimp flavor and the tang from the sauce seemed to balance out the acidity and caramel in the wine. Just wanted to let everyone know, since food pairings with madeira are hard to come by.
