Hi Dave
And a stunning Quinta it is too. You may know this but I will risk re-saying it, Quinta Nova operate a superb wine hotel, a recent winner of some International Wine Tourism Awards, in the Estate. A few years ago, when the Amorim (of cork fame) family disposed of Burmester they decided to keep Quinta Nova and since have started bottling a range of excellent Ruby Ports (Reserve, LBV and VP) as well as some excellent Douro DOC wines . With its 1,5 kms (about 1 mile) of along the Douro frontage this estate is truly spectacular and a relaxing sanctuary for the senses. Visit it when you can and if you need any help setting it up ...just shout!
CHEERS!
Jose
P.S. - BTW, the offer to help set up a visit applies to any and all FTLOPers!

Some really fabulous lists. It will be interesting when looking back at 2009, to see if some of the Ports we had last weekend, will make it into some of the
'ers personal best.

Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Oh I'm fairly certain that at least one of those Ports will make it onto my list! The 1947 Quinta do Noval is an early lock to make my top 3 for 2009.
Either that or I'm in for a VERY good year of drinking Port!!!

Let's just say that I'll be extremely pleased if I manage to taste 3 Ports this year that can top that '47 Noval! :lick:
