Sandeman's Seixo Wins Tourism Award

Quinta do Seixo, an "A" rated vineyard in the Douro Demarcated
Region belonging to Sogrape Vinhos and attributed to Sandeman Port,
has won the Turismo de Portugal (Portugal Tourist Board) Prize in
the New Private Project category.

The fully operational winery incorporates an innovative tour
which allows visitors to experience the wine making process first
hand as well as exploring and learning about the creation of
Sandeman Port Wine

This innovative project has been recognized by Turismo de
Portugal, who distinguishes public and private initiatives which
contribute to Portugal's reputation as a high-quality tourist
destination. Quinta do Seixo was singled out among the 132
candidates from all regions of the country, for seeking to
advance the Douro region through promoting one of its most iconic
products - Port Wine - in conjunction with the region's signature
activities: Gastronomy and Wine and Cultural and Landscape
Tourism.

The prize was accepted by George Sandeman from the Secretary of
State for Tourism, Dr. Bernardo Trindade, in a ceremony during
the Lisbon Tourism Fair held in January, at FIL (Lisbon International Fair).

Inaugurated in 2007, Quinta do Seixo offers guided tours and wine
tasting events aimed at exploring the Sandeman Port winemaking
process.
A contemporary perspective in a sophisticated environment which
is already a landmark in the Douro Demarcated Region!
